Empowering the next generation of female innovators
Programme Overview
CreateHER is a multiuniversity, female only, 6-week programme originating in University of Galway’s Ideas Lab but rolling out in SETU (and other Universities) this September. The programme seeks to open students’ minds to the possibility of developing entrepreneurial skills to lead or create a business now, or in their future careers.
The programme consists of 6 workshops (4pm to 6pm) on Wednesday evenings (4th February to 18th March). Over the course of 6 sessions, students will learn how to build confidence, develop an innovative mindset, practice creative skills, network with others and work on their personal development.
The programme will be delivered by a combination of workshops from the GROWTHhub team and discussions with women who are leaders in their area. The workshop sessions are informal and relaxed and no course work or assignments are required.
At the end of the academic year, all participants get the opportunity to “shadow” employees in partner businesses to understand what it is like to walk in the shoes of successful women and see the different roles and sectors they are involved in. In addition, all participants (1st and 2nd semester) are invited to an AWAY-DAY, which will be held in GALWAY on 14th April. This promises to be a fun day and it will bring together all participants of the CreateHER programmes from The University of Galway, SETU, University of Limerick, MTU and ATU.
