WIN a €2,000 student bursary to start your own business.

Have you got a business idea but you’re not sure where to go with it? Then StEP-Up to Start-up is just what you need. This GROWTHhub student enterprise programme will provide you with the foundation knowledge you need to get you started.

The StEP-Up programme exposes you to masterclasses, delivered by a team of professionals, to help you explore the potential in your business idea. You will be introduced to important considerations when starting an enterprise and you will develop necessary enterprise skills to make it happen. Completion of this programme will provide you with a good springboard to start your own business or to move on to more advanced enterprise supports (where relevant). What’s more, you could secure €2,000 funding to help move your business idea onto the next level.

 

What will the programme cover?

· An introduction to entrepreneurship and innovation.

· Defining the problem: understanding the problem from your customers perspective.

· Customer discovery and validation: who are your customers and will they pay?

· Value proposition: what value are you providing to your customer?

· Market opportunity development: understanding the competitive landscape.

· Brilliant pitches: how to deliver a successful pitch and secure investment.

· Company development and future pathways: where do you go next and who can help you?

 

Who can join StEP-Up to Start-Up?

While the StEP-Up programme may suit final year students best, we welcome all students from all disciplines who have a business idea or an interest in setting up a business. Students can apply to attend individually or as an entrepreneurial team. If you are not sure whether your idea is suitable, e-mail Margaret at [email protected] and she will arrange a time to talk it through with you.

How will it be delivered?

StEP-Up to Start-Up will run full time, in person from, 29th May to 2nd June [when the exams are over!]. The programme will take place in our SETU ArcLabs Boardroom on our Carriganore Campus (near the SETU Sports Arena). ArcLabs is SETU’s business incubator which houses many start-ups and established businesses.
